Spring Fundraiser

As we reach the end of a wonderful season, we’re gearing up to do a fundraiser to start preparing for our next summer of training.

Fundraisers help meet the costs of running a team without increasing program fees - the money goes towards paying coaches, team insurance, providing coach support at travel events, and the scholarship fund. One of our primary fundraising goals is to subsidize a full-time Chugiak/Eagle River coach for the summer, so that the ER juniors have some high-quality training and coaching!

For insurance purposes, all athletes must have a current USSA Cross Country license for the 2023-2024 season. Licenses will be required when we enter the new competition year on June 1.

General licenses will meet insurance requirements, competition license is not required. However, athletes competing for a place on the Junior National or Arctic Winter Games team this coming season will need comp licenses to be eligible for team placement this winter.

If you need to check hours for the week, or don’t know what workouts to do while traveling, refer to the training dashboard.

Remember to record notes and hours from practices & OYOs in your training log.

More information & resources can be found in the “Current Athletes” dropdown menu in the top bar.

officially The Hardest Sport Out There,

according to a panel of experts at Outside Magazine

“For our money, this is the toughest sport. It requires the endurance of ultrarunning, the sprint speed of mountain biking, the mental toughness of open water swimming, and, at times, can put skiers in situations of real exposure. And at 952 calories per hour, competitive nordic skiers burn the equivalent of a Chipotle burrito every hour. To be successful, athletes must maintain unparalleled cardiovascular fitness in addition to muscular strength and coordination.”
